If you’ve found us, you’re probably wondering two things.
First can Pediatric Chiropractic care help my child? And secondly, how does it even work? Well you are not alone! Lots of moms, dads, and caregivers are looking for hope and answers, backed by science that will help them with all the stress and struggle our kids and families are confronted with. Here at Innate Life you’ll find hope, answers, and help.
Let’s look at why our kids are struggling in the first place.
Common Childhood Trauma Can Affect the Pediatric Spine
Although, bumps, falls and wrestling matches are often what comes to mind with our kids when we think of physical stress, actual physical stressors start much earlier, most commonly researched as starting during the prenatal or birth process.
In addition to physical stressors, our kids live in a busier, more complex generation than we did. Schedules are packed, social media is everywhere, and food quality isn’t what it used to be. Simply put, we have more coming from every direction, and all combined, it can be overwhelming!
The more ‘stressors’ that build up, the harder it is for our bodies to adapt and overcome, leaving our kids’ nervous system to get stuck on the gas pedal.
How Chiropractic Benefits Children
Think of the spine as not just a collection of bones, muscles, and ligaments, but instead as an entire neurological “organ” that is the key communication highway between the brain and body. When the brain and body can communicate well, kids can adapt to their surroundings better. Adapting is a key word, and why Chiropractic is so helpful to kids.
Especially kids who struggle with:
Your First Visit
Upon arrival you will be warmly greeted by one of our amazing front desk staff. They then will take you to our private room where the doctor will first meet with you to begin the consultation and assessment, which incorporates many aspects of health.
First Dr. Nathan will go over an extensive history with you in regards to your child’s current and past health challenges, if any. Second, we will spend time sharing how chiropractic care works, and specifically how things are done in our office. We strongly feel that the more we know about you, and the more you know about us, the more we can help, and that is our primary mission.
The third component is likely the most important, and is begun once the consultation is done. This component is our comprehensive pediatric neurospinal assessment. The exam done at our office is very thorough and expansive, allowing us to determine exactly what is going on with their health, and what the true cause of their challenges are.
Your Second Visit
On your 2nd visit, our front desk staff will again greet you and get you checked in for your appointment. Next, Dr. Nathan will go over all of the results from your child’s assessment. We refer to this as their Report of Findings. This is also the time for you to ask any and all questions you may have.
Dr. Nathan will share the results of the scans that were performed. The scans have 2 primary components, and each will be explained thoroughly. Again, this is the most important piece as your child will receive re-scans on a very specific schedule in order to track their functional improvements. It is very important to us that you have a good understanding of what is going on with your central nervous system and spine, so this is a great opportunity to ask questions.
Regular Pediatric Visits
On a typical visit during the course of your care, you will always be greeted warmly by our incredible front desk staff. Every part of the care in our office contributes to the process designed to restore your health and wellness. So while you will likely have more frequent visits in the beginning you will be seeing progress with each step along the way!
